Using the various tools the software has to offer for example;
-Physics to create the lava lamp, pillows and Duvet
- Animated Textures
- Cloth and collision physics.
- Modelling
- Vertex Points to crumple the Monster Energy cans
- Texturing
- Texture Baking and importing into Unreal Engine 5
This was based on one of my childhood rooms. Although, edited a little to fit the timeframe with the PS1 and the CRT TV.
To export from Blender to Unreal Engine 5. I first baked the textures using Blender's baking feature (which works well in 3.4 but crashes in 3.6) could have been my render settings. with these maps I then replaced the existing maps with the baked texture maps. opened Unreal engine and got to work. Adding all the elements that I wanted to add into the scene such as the PS1, TV, Monster Cans, Bed, Poster, Pillows, Pizza. etc..... Adding emissive texture maps on the textures that required it for example the Lava lamp and the TV.
I did add video using a Unreal Addon but it didn't work instead opting for a plain texture. (a lesson for my next environment).
Once the scene was complete I went to build the package and boom {the file path couldn't be located) so I had to update the SDKs both in Visual Studio and Unreal, Restart and woohoo a dull environment at your leisure.
Notes to take away from this project: don't give up at the first hurdle (baking the PS1 was a pain) therefore make sure that elements are on the correct UVs, before baking, make sure you have render settings turned on, use Substance Painter whn baking materials, be more poststent.
In all I had a lot of fun with this project and it will be available on

If anybody is interested in taking a look
Follow for more environments in the future
Peace.
